.ordinary hero.

.ordinary hero.  I don't want this space of mine to be ALL adoption....... but we kind of need it to be for a while again.  I would like to blog about other aspects of our life but right now this is the front runner of our lives, so it gets talked about.

I also don't want this space to be ALL about fundraising......but again in the coming months we will be shelling out some major dough, so we NEED some money to come in.  We have two HUGE fundraisers coming up in the next two weeks (and then a super awesome one, that involves great food, in April) and today I want to talk about one of them, as it starts today!

Today I want to talk about Ordinary Hero.  For those of you in the adoption community you have probably already heard of them.  For those of you who have not, let me introduce an amazing organization to you.  Ordinary Hero was founded by Kelly Putty, an adoptive mother, and their mission is to inspire and empower ORDINARY people to make an extraordinary difference in the life of a child in need.  They serve others through various mission trips, scholarship programs, local outreach events, and much more.  They truly do make a difference both here in the USA and abroad.

One of the big things Ordinary Hero also does is they help adoptive families fundraise by giving 40% of sales back to their partnering families.  And many times they have additional grant giveaways to their top sales families, this is where we need your help.  From now until next Friday, March 22nd, they are running their grant contest.  The top three families will earn an additional $500 for their adoption.

To help us all you need to do is go shopping at Ordinary Hero and make sure you put my name down (Desiree Thompson) as the partnering family.  Their gear is adorable and comfortable, I am sure you can find something that would be a great addition to your wardrobe.  If you don't need to shop for yourself or anyone but still want to help Ordinary Hero also offers products you can purchase for children in need.  These items go to others who do not have a lot and the partnering families still get a percentage of the sales - it is a win win!

Thank you for checking out Ordinary Hero for us, passing this info around, and praying that the finances show up when they need to.  We truly appreciate all the support & cannot thank you enough!  .ordinary hero.
