With Abel.....he is a HUGE Packers fan! haha
While we were in Ethiopia days 4, 5, & 6 were a bit more relaxed then our Tuesday schedule. So I am going to group them together for this fun little post.
Walking with my sister....we can't show her face, but she is gorgeous :)
Tariku was being a ham at lunch!
On Wednesday we meet up with our project hopeful sister by taking her out to lunch. On our first trip to Ethiopia we meet her and had a wonderful morning at the project hopeful site. On this trip we didn't know if it would be possible to meet up with her or not, so we didn't make contact until we were there - I am so glad Abel was able to squeeze a lunch date into our schedule (and his). We picked up our sister and then ate at, Top View, a restaurant near the area of Addis she lives. It was nice to be able to sit down with her and get to know her better. Our sister is VERY shy and it was nice to see her open up through our time together.
In the car I was able to give her a little photo album and some other small gifts for her family. I am so glad we were able to connect again and be able to take her out. It was a treat for us.
blowing bubbles at the Guest House
getting tickled :)
On Thursday we had our embassy appointment. Tariku had to go to the bathroom super bad when we arrived, so we filtered past the people waiting, rushed through security and got in to use the bathroom. This actually helped us because we then got to go first, haha. So if you don't want to wait just say you need to use the bathroom ;) ....That was all our excitement at embassy.
Our new friends :)
On Friday we meet up with new friends Jimmy & Rachel Gross, they live in Addis and started No Ordinary Love Ministries. Jimmy and Rachel helped our little guy get to his last orphanage.....the details are still something we are keeping to ourselves, as Tariku's full story is somewhat of a novel and we need to ask the Lord for guidance on how to tell his story. I can say that when God's people do what HE asks of them HE SHINES! It was so nice to be able to meet this amazing couple, they will always be part of our lives.
my attempt at making injera....
and it's done!
The rest of our time in Ethiopia on days 4,5,& 6 were spent getting to know Tariku. We took walks, gave showers, and played. We also connected with the other families who were staying at the guest house and we connected more with Birtukan and her sweet family. Our time there is always amazing as she fills her home with love & laughter.
