.Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas

"At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the roman Empire.  This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.  All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census.  And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to got to bethlehem in Judea, David's ancient home.  He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee.  He took with him Mary, his fiancee, who was now obviously pregnant.  And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born.  She gave birth to her first child, a son.  She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging avilable for them."
Luke 2:1-7

.snow.

.snow.  Last night we had our first major snow storm here in Wisconsin.  Around our area we got between 9-12 inches of snow, and it's not done yet.  I expect we won't see the ground again until March, there will be too much snow covering it.  Although it is a hassle to drive in, it is beautiful.  When it falls at night it looks like glitter falling from heaven, I love watching all the unique flakes come down.  I love sitting inside with a cup of hot chocolate looking out at winter.  I love seeing the trees all covered with the beautiful chill.  As much as I hate the cold that comes with it, if I ever moved some place warmer I would miss this. .snow.

.enjoy your winter wonderland.

.giveaway winner.

.giveaway winner. First I would like to say thank you to everyone who participated.  I did not expect so many people to respond.  Second I really appreciate all the kind words about the items in my shop.  I take time to make them and each item means a lot to me.  Third thank you for sharing all your wonderful traditions with me.  I have read each comment and there are so many great traditions that I may want to add to this magical month & Christmas season.  .giveaway winner.

I bet you all want to know who the winner is.  I had fully intended to write down names and pick from a bowl.  But when it came down to it I decided that would kill my hand and waste a tree.  So I used the random number generator and they picked number 188 for me.  Which means Catherine from Pursuing Domestic Goddess-ness won!  Congratulations.

And again thank you all for taking the time to visit.  Please don't hesitate to stop by again.

.saint nick.

*If you are here for Sew Mama Sews blog day giveaway scroll down or go here! This is not a giveaway post!

.saint nick. Did you grow up with Saint Nicholas?  I did not.  My husband did not.  But... I would like to include Him in our new family traditions.  First because I think that those stocking I hung up need to be filled with something early.  Second because I cannot wait until Christmas to give my family what they diserve and what I want to give them.  And third because Saint Nick is way cooler than Santa.  This weeks finds are dedicated to good old Saint Nick.  .saint nick.

.blog day - giveaway.

.blog day - giveaway.  Ah I love the blog day giveaway.  It is the reason... well one of the reasons I started blogging.  During the last giveaway I won four prizes!  FOUR! - Three of them made it to my house, one of them I gave away, one of them is in the toy bin, and one is still in constant use.  Since I had so much fun last time I have decided to give away one of my bags.  I am giving away a classic tote. .blog day - giveaway.
*Giveaway has been closed.  Thank you.*

Classic Tote: This is an awesome reusable bag for carrying groceries, books, clothing, baby gear, or crafts. It is much stronger and cuter than an average plastic bag. Its large handles make for a comfortable hold even when the bag is full. There is a perfect front pocket on the outside to hold your smaller items while out and about.

This bag measures, approximately, 13 inches across, 16.5 inches tall (not including handles), and 5.5 inched deep. The front pocket is 9 inches by 9 inches.

Here are the rules:
*You need to leave a comment below telling me your favorite Christmas tradition.
*Please leave me a way of contacting you... if there is no email on your blog & I don't have it I will draw a new winner!
*If you visit my etsy shop & leave me a comment of your favorite item, then you will get an additional entry... that means leave two separate comments (one about your tradition & one about the item).
*At this time I will only ship to residents in the USA or Canada.
*Entry will be drawn at random out of a hat or bowl or whatever I can find Monday morning.
*You have until Sunday December 6th at Midnight to enter - Winner will be posted Monday, December 7th, in the afternoon.
*That's it - good luck to all of you!
*Giveaway has been closed.  Thank you.*

Since I am asking for your traditions I feel its only fair to share mine.  We are starting a tradition this year - so its not one quite yet, but it will be. That tradition is baking a Birthday cake for Jesus.  We are excited at this house and there has already been much discussion on what kind of cake He would want.  We have decided to make a spice cake with cream cheese frosting. yum.
